Working in a sector where your work and passion are intertwined can be exhausting, the boundaries between work and life become very blurred and burnout creeps ever nearer.
You often feel stuck.
This was my experience working in the public, environmental and not-for-profit sectors and it taught me resilience, self-care, determination but most importantly that no matter how much you love your job, it can't love you back so finding balance in your life is crucial!
I've seen first-hand how many passionate leaders neglect their own wellbeing and needs, and end up feeling jaded, tired and ineffective. I see a lot of people feeling like this at the moment and I've been working with many clients to help them regain some balance and joy in their life by working smarter not harder, so they can re-find their passion and have a bigger impact in their work, whilst protecting their own wellbeing.
I retrained as a coach in 2019 and my personal mission is to support leaders to increase their impact in the world, stay healthy and leave the planet in a better state than they found it, whilst having some fun along the way!

What is coaching?
It's rare these days that we make time for ourselves and our own personal development. How often do you feel truly listened to and actually feel heard? Amongst the noise of social media, 24-hour emails, and the expectations that accompany them, it is often hard to slow down, focus and connect with others, let alone ourselves. When do you make time for what is important, not just 'urgent'?
Coaching is an opportunity to have a thought-provoking, confidential conversation. Time to think and take stock, re-balance, reflect and focus on what is important.
Perhaps you want to find a better work-life balance or increase your impact and productivity. Maybe you are going through a transition, changing career, or wish to take your career to the next level. Coaching can help you have the courage and self-belief you need to move forwards with all of this and more.
I believe in coaching the whole person so whether you want help with a work or personal issue we'll probably end up exploring lots of the different pillars of coaching.

The benefits of coaching
What you will gain from coaching will largely depend on your goals, but the following are outcomes that many of my clients have experienced whilst working with me:
Improved confidence - Improved self-belief and confidence to navigate change more effectively, in interviews/job applications or in stating their needs at work or home.
Increased job satisfaction - Whether they decided to stay where they were or move on.
Reduced stress - Developed tactics for stress management, resulting in improved effectiveness at work.
Improved leadership skills - Developed and became aware of their authentic leadership style and felt confident applying it.
Increased motivation and achieved goals - Overcame drivers of procrastination in order to achieve desired goals.
Increased self-awareness of strengths and values - Which resulted in increased understanding, self-compassion and better decision making.
Felt heard and understood - This is sometimes all that is needed to move forwards.
Discovered new perspectives and shifted their thinking - Which unlocked a new approach to an old challenge.
Who is coaching for
Anyone looking to make a change!
I offer bespoke packages tailored to your particular needs, your aims and your personality. My approach draws on proven techniques from many disciplines and is underpinned by elements of positive psychology, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, mindfulness and leadership development.
Some example client profiles:
Those in career transition - You are considering, or part way through, a career change or transition. You might be trying to figure our what your dream job is, or you would like some help identifying where your skills, interests and passion will fit best. Together we can look at your desires, strengths and values so you feel happier and more self-assured about your career direction.
The overworked - You're worried that if you don’t do ‘it’ no-one will. You end up taking on more work than you have time for. Busyness has become a bit of a badge of honour for you but you’re starting to worry you might be heading towards a burnout and want some help figuring out how to avoid this.
The tireless, dedicated worker - You’ve dedicated your life to working for a good cause, whether environmental or social. The scale of the problem you are working on is so huge, you wonder how you can ever rest and feel relaxed, knowing that there’s so much to do. You can't afford to burn-out because the world needs you now more than ever before. Together we can work out what a more balanced life looks like for you so you can keep pursuing your passion without sacrificing your wellbeing.
Self-doubters - You feel like an imposter or are generally lack self-confidence and realise this is starting to hold you back - whether that's going for that promotion at work, speaking up in meetings, or in your everyday life. You sometimes feel like you don’t belong and you might be ‘found out’ at any minute. You put your success down to luck and shrug off praise from others. You want to believe in yourself and push yourself forwards but it all feels a bit uncomfortable.
Finding your feet as a leader - You've just moved into a leadership or management role and you hear lots of talk about the importance of being a 'good leader' and manager but you're not even quite sure what a real leader or manager looks like and whether you are one. Together we can explore your authentic leadership style, your ideas about management, your strengths and skills and how you can apply them to be the best manager you can.
Wanting to increase your impact in your work - You might have been a leader or manager for a while but you've developed some bad habits and want a refresh to get the most out of your team and have the biggest impact in your work. Together we can explore your authentic leadership style, your ideas about management, your strengths and skills and how you can apply them to be the best manager you can.
About me
I have been very fortunate to work for a variety of organisations with multi-cultural, multi-disciplined teams. In particular, I have extensive experience of supporting, developing and managing individuals and teams globally - both nascent and well-established - through challenging situations, periods of growth or change, and often remotely. These situations required dedication, empathy, emotional intelligence and intuition, and equipped me well for coaching.
I am passionate about supporting clients during their transitions into leadership roles, as working through a series of my own challenges, I came to realise that people are an organisation’s most valued asset and supporting both personal and team wellbeing and resilience is paramount.
My experience and qualifications
Credentialed as an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation (ICF), I am committed to continuing professional development and I adhere to their ethical guidelines, so you can be confident in the standard of my coaching.
Varied background before coaching. Over 13 years of experience working with a variety of not-for-profit organisations and large charitable bodies, organising events and managing, leading and developing programmes and teams.
I also have a Master of Science (MSc) in Conservation and Biodiversity and am a Kinship Conservation Fellow so I understand the challenges faced whilst working in the environmental sector.
Over 200 hours of team and individual coaching experience since qualifying. I use my experience to support you in the most useful way at the most useful time.
Postgraduate Certificate in Personal & Business Coaching (in progress). I have a wide range of tools and approaches to draw from and understand the theory underpinning coaching, so we can find the right approach for you.
Regular supervision enables me to focus on my own personal development so that I can be the best coach for you and ensures I am adhering to the ICF code of ethics.
High levels of empathy and a respectful and intuitive listener.
The courage and willingness to tell it how it is, when you most need to hear the truth!
What others say
I offer flexible packages and a free discovery call, so you can experience my coaching with no obligation to become a client.
Sessions usually take place via Zoom. I also offer sessions as phone calls so you can walk and talk, or if you are local to Bristol we can meet for a lovely distanced walk.
Sometimes you need coaching at the times when you can least afford it. I have some slots available on Wednesdays, which operate on an honesty-based, pay-what-you-can-afford basis. Please get in touch for current availability.
I also offer monthly group sessions which are a more affordable way to access coaching.

Tori was really great at creating a safe space for me as we talked through the transitions I was going through in my career. She always had a great perspective and I had quite a few a-ha moments when talking with her about myself in relation to my career, how I work and where I want to go!
